SUMMER CAMPS 2021

Find engaging summer camps for all ages in the Denver-Metro area. SCFD funded organizations offer camps in dance, history, music, science, theatre, visual arts, literary arts and more!  In response to Covid-19, all organizations are following state and county guidelines and have reduced capacity. Please contact each organization directly for the latest availability and guidelines.  

Art Students League of Denver will hold half day in-person and online camps in a variety of mediums including: Animation, Ceramics, Drawing, Mixed Media, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Sewing/Fiber Arts. Due to the pandemic our in-person camps will have a lower capacity, so space is limited! ASLD Youth ($18 annually) or Household ($100 annually) Membership is required to register for camp. Full and partial scholarships are available by application on a first-come, first-served basis.

Designed for kids to learn new skills, discover new interests and most importantly have fun! Offering elementary and middle school outdoor summer camps. We inspire our campers to better understand and appreciate the outdoors through a blend of weekly environmental topics, nature exploration, animal encounters, hands-on lessons, games, crafts, and free creek play. Small group sizes organized by age and parent preferences give every camper the opportunity to be curious, active, and appreciated!  Scholarship assistance may be available for those that qualify.

Explore the world of invertebrates this summer with Butterfly Pavilion in a series of indoor/outdoor hands-on week long programs that your kids will love! 27th Annual Summer Dance Institute’s Global Children’s Camp. Offering in-person and online camps.
In-person camps June 21-25 and June 28-July 2. Limited Capacity, ages 3-13. 
Online camps June 21-25, ages 5-13, with both live and recorded instruction. Craft supplies pick-up available before camp starts.
Financial need-based scholarships available.
In-person camps will follow health and safety guidelines and both camps will offer live instruction with global instructors. Technique classes with our professional ensemble and global crafts are included as well as daily afternoon sharing.

Offering in-person and/or virtual summer dance camps! These five day camps will include ballet and creative movement classes in-person, and then dancers explore other dance techniques such as hip-hop and folk dances as well as create their own dance in our virtual space. Curious New Voices Summer Playwriting Intensive. This  program is designed to support new and experienced young writers as they take on the exciting challenge of writing a new short play. All young artists collaborate with professional mentors, directors and actors to see their work brought to theatrical life as part of the creative development process.

The Gardens has camps for kids only that are full of garden explorations, games, activities, mindfulness and plants to take home. Camps take place at York Street and Chatfield Farms. DCPA Education offers a summer of acting, improv, dancing and more! Single and multi-day sessions are available. Classes for K-5th grade are virtual, while Middle and High School students may choose from virtual or in-person options. Classes occur June through August. No experience necessary. An opportunity for students to safely learn the techniques of filmmaking remotely from their own homes! Young Filmmaker students will meet once a day for a week-long course where they will collaborate with other students and create projects inspired by one of four film genres: Comedy, Film Noir, Horror, and Auteur Theory. These are bite-sized courses perfect for either the entry level or experienced filmmaker looking to expand their skill set.

Kim Robards Dance Summer Intensive Company Project.

The Kim Robards Dance Summer Intensive Company Project is designed to provide dancers with an opportunity to train and rehearse alongside professional dancers in a company setting and perform alongside company members in a public presentation. Dancers train and work with critically acclaimed Artistic Director/Choreographer Kim Robards during the creation of a new work. Providing a rigorous and enriching training ground and a performance opportunity, simulating a professional company schedule, are unique aspects of KRD’s program.
