Get creative this summer at CherryArts’ one-week art camp with Colorado artist Lilian Lara! Lilian is a mixed media artist specializing in unconventional sculptures, fashion, and textiles. Her art leans on the dramatic and creates outrageous displays of pageantry out of the everyday. She weaves story and memory to forge experiential spaces for a multigenerational audience. Lara’s immigrant roots shape her work and drive to make each piece an amalgam of innovation, defiance, and culture. Lilian will guide campers in exploring joy through the tiny wonders of everyday life. Inspired by bugs and the small moments that make us smile—like smelling a flower or laughing with friends—campers will build glowing insect lanterns that capture these joyful experiences.
